John Aw leads the sales team at HB Rentals’ new offices in Singapore, based at The Franklin, Science Park 1, close to the busy Jurong port as it targets significant growth in the region.

Mr Aw, 34, a graduate in Science in Business Management with extensive knowledge of the region, arrives at HB Rentals from Singapore based Kelly Services following six years in human resources and engineering operations management.

He has already visited customers in Malaysia and Indonesia in his role as regional sales boss for HB Rentals, which also covers the Philippines, Vietnam and Brunei, and will also expand the current customer base in Thailand and Australia, aiming to build on a sharp increase in contract wins which have included orders from Sakhalin Island to New Zealand.

“The whole Asia – Pacific region is buoyant at the moment, with growth in just about every area which we obviously aim to become a major part of,” said John Aw.

“We have an excellent network of representatives in the region who are well respected and established in their markets and who will play a key role to the success of our regional expansion plans”.

“Our new build fleet expansion programme means that we have the capability to meet incredible demand from onshore and offshore oil and gas exploration operators and my role is central to our target of serving an expanded customer list.

“I am working very closely with Darren Bohn and, with his understanding of our customers requirements, technical knowledge and expertise we are able to respond quickly to customers’ needs, handling mobilisation of modules at short notice as well as providing full installation and hook-up coordination and ongoing support throughout a contract.”

HB Rentals’ storage and maintenance facility at 237 Pandan Loop, Jurong province in Singapore, has a fleet of modules rising to more than 70 by the end of the year.

The firm is the only offshore module specialist in the region capable of supplying units which meet the latest ABS, SOLAS and IMO regulations and are fully DNV approved and can be provided at short notice and to almost any configuration to suit  customers’ immediate needs.
