The cabin will supplement the Viking Troll’s existing living quarters, currently suitable for up to 32 people, as further beds are required due to the additional manning levels required for the pre-installation of the moorings. The contract is worth around £20,000 to HB Rentals and includes options to extend at the end of the 3 month period.
Mark Slater, regional business development manager for HB Rentals, said: “Our ability to quickly mobilise an eight-person module for Eidesvik was crucial for the delivery of the vessel to the project. Our modules’ DNV-approved status also ensured that securing accreditation for use on the Viking Troll was hassle-free.
“The accommodation unit, which we delivered brand new off the production line in Aberdeen, has the smallest footprint in the market saving valuable deck space on the vessel while meeting the additional persons on board capacity for the contract.
HB Rentals’ global fleet is undergoing continuous expansion with new-build projects taking place at each of its international hubs, a key driver in its geographical expansion plans which will continue in 2008.
