GLOBAL offshore accommodation leader HB Rentals, a Superior Energy Services Company, is enjoying major business growth in South East Asia, after winning a new deal with upstream service provider Geoservices.
HB Rentals has delivered a 16ft x 8ft engineering cabin to Geoservices on a year-long contract, for deployment to the Ocean Patriot in the Basker and Manta fields, in the Gippsland basin offshore Australia.
The DNV 271, A60 fire-rated zone 1 unit will be used by Geoservices technicians, initially for upstream oil and gas explorer Anzon on board the Diamond Offshore drilling rig .
The project includes the custom installation of a special instrument rack enclosure to house Geoservices’ fluid logging and analysis in real-time (flair) equipment, along with a sample analysis sink.
John Aw, regional sales manager for HB Rentals in Singapore, said: “We’ve had a surge of business in the final quarter of 2007, with our firmly established relationship with Geoservices a key part of those results.
“HB Rentals is the only firm able to quickly modify and mobilise these space-saving, high specification modules in the region. Geoservices has for the last years adopted DNV-approved and A60-rated cabins as their standard globally, which follows similar moves by many of our customers in the US and throughout Europe.”
HB Rentals, a Superior Energy Services Company, is the world’s largest unique supplier of temporary on and offshore accommodation modules, operating from three major global hubs in Broussard, Louisiana, US; Aberdeen, Scotland and Singapore.
The global specialist includes the European, American, South East Asian and Australasian operations of the former Duffy and McGovern Accommodation Services, which it acquired in January 2007.
